VOICE LESSONS
I BELIEVE THAT EVERYONE HAS A VOICE
I believe that every human can benefit from the discipline and self discovery associated with studying the vocal instrument. Furthermore, I believe that every performer gains an deeper understanding of their vocal instrument when helping another discover their own.
Therefore, I am pleased to offer private voice lessons in the Quad Cities Area.
Experience: I have over 8 years of experience teaching students age 10 to 65. I began teaching during my master's degree at the Yale School of Music instructing undergraduates, YSM instrumentalists enrolled in secondary lessons, and young musicians from the New Haven Public Schools participating in the YSM Music in Schools Initiative and Morse Summer Music Academy. During my summer as a fellow with the Aspen Music Festival and School, I taught local young musicians through the AMFS Passes and Lessons Scholarship program in both private lessons and a masterclass on piano-vocal collaboration. For two and a half years, I held a position as adjunct voice instructor at Naugatuck Valley Community College teaching private lessons and group voice class. Furthermore, I was the primary vocal instructor and coach for the cast of two NVCC musicals, as well as co-musical director and conductor for one musical production. I have previously held faculty positions at Augustana College, St. Ambrose University, Davenport’s River Music Experience, and will act as a TA for the University of Iowa School of Music starting this fall.
Degrees: University of Northern Iowa: Bachelor of Music; Yale University School of Music Master of Music and Artistic Diploma.
